Lauren earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and English Literature from McGill University, and her Master’s degree in Modern History from University College London. After graduating, she interned at Profile Books, SAGE, and Feminist Press, and then worked for several years as a publicist at Simon & Schuster, where she planned and executed strategic publicity campaigns for a roster of bestselling and award-winning journalists, historians, and public figures. Most recently, she was an Associate Literary Agent at Writers House, where she identified new literary voices to represent, shepherded projects along the editorial pipeline, and edited and developed commercial thrillers, literary fiction, narrative nonfiction, memoir, self-help, business, and true crime. Her favorite types of books are underlinable memoirs like Deborah Levy’s Real Estate, tearjerker literary fiction like Sigrid Nunez’s The Friend, and classic thrillers like Patricia Highsmith’s The Talented Mr. Ripley.
